Small but mighty. Currently the fastest growing rugby referee society in the state of Texas!
Refereeing starts in early August 2022 and runs nearly every week until April 2023!
In 2022 our referees have been apart of the D1AA Collegiate National Championship Series, Club XVs & 7s Nationals Series, Rugbytown 7s, D1-D3 Mens/Women's, NAI 7s, Tropical 7s, CRC's...and the list goes on!
We don't get better without training. For 2022 the Lonestar leadership has created a comprehensive plan to help our referees get better on and off the field.
Referees must maintain the highest level of integrity for the game to succeed. Referees must conduct themselves with the highest standards of Honesty, Discipline and Fairness at all times. Be in control of your emotions at all times while having absolute fun being part of the greatest game on earth. Through proper rugby referee training and coaching you can achieve this while bettering the game of rugby.
RUGBY ETHOS
In 2009 the World Rugby member unions identified integrity, passion, solidarity, discipline and respect as the defining character-building characteristics of rugby. These are now collectively known as the World Rugby values and are incorporated within the World Rugby Playing Charter, a guiding document aimed at preserving rugby’s unique character and ethos both on and off the field of play.
The core values enable participants immediately to understand the character of the games and what makes it distinctive as a sport which is played by people of all shapes and sizes.
If you are interested in having fun, getting paid to be fit and making life long friends; then we have a place for you on our team. To become a World Rugby certified referee contact the Lonestar Referee Society to get information on the latest certification course.
